Carmel, Fitzrovia brings a fresh, welcoming energy to London’s restaurant scene. From the construction phase to the final finishing details, Nexus worked closely with Mata Architects to create a restaurant space that felt effortlessly stylish and warm.
The heart of the design is a sleek steel and timber screen that runs the length of the restaurant. This feature connects the different areas of the space while naturally drawing guests in. Wine shelves perched above, and lush greenery below add texture and charm, giving the restaurant a vibrant, lived-in feel. The screen also divides the cosy service area from the open, airy dining space, striking the perfect balance between intimacy and openness. The front of Carmel is framed with lush planters and features a welcoming outdoor terrace.
Every detail has been carefully considered throughout the restaurant. Materials like smooth steel, natural wood, and soft stone create a relaxed yet refined feel. Warm lighting ties it all together, casting a glow that makes the space feel inviting and comfortable.
Through precise project management, the Nexus team ensured the design vision was executed flawlessly within time and budget constraints. The result is a sophisticated yet inviting space that reflects the rich heritage of Eastern Mediterranean design, offering guests a truly unique dining experience.
