Nexus’ Commercial Refurbishment Team recently delivered a compact yet characterful refurbishment for Shiosai Sushi, a new Japanese restaurant bringing an elegant sushi dining experience to the heart of Hastings. Unlike full-scale fit-outs, this project was managed and executed by our dedicated Commercial Refurbishment Team – designed specifically to handle smaller-scale, fast-turnaround refurbishments without compromising on quality. 

Located in a prominent corner unit on Castle Street, Shiosai’s interiors needed to reflect the restaurant’s commitment to precision, freshness, and Japanese minimalism. Working closely with the client’s design intent, we updated the space with bespoke joinery, subtle decorative finishes, and lighting improvements, all while working around an active high street and a tight budget and schedule. 

The result is a clean, welcoming environment that feels both contemporary and respectful of traditional Japanese aesthetics. The Commercial Refurbishment Team coordinated efficiently with local suppliers and trades to keep the timeline on track, ensuring the restaurant could open its doors on time and with impact.
